grape and yeast speciation, cold resistance genes in grapes, natural yeasts on
grapes, in the winery, and yeast population and chemical changes during
spontaneous fermentation. The goal is to improve the quality of Ohio wines.
Please consult Ohio's Enology Research
Center.
- the cell and molecular biology of anaerobic protozoan parasites with
emphasis on trichomonads, Giardia, Cryptosporidium and
Hexamita. These protozoan parasites are used as models for basic
research investigations with the overall goal of gaining insights into
host-parasite interactions, detection, diagnosis, pathogenesis,
chemotherapeutic implications.
