Research Interests

Dr. Lo is Professor of Geology. He received his B.S. from National Taiwan University, his M.S. from University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. from Washington University. He is a member of the Senior Academy Council of the Ohio Academy of Science and served as Vice President of the Ohio Academy of Science (chairperson, geology section). He has been a faculty member of Cleveland State University since 1970. He has been a visiting research professor at the Center for Volcanology, University of Oregon and at Purdue University.

Dr. Lo is a geologist and an environmental scientist. His research interests and publications have been involved with trace element geochemistry, petrology of igneous rocks, composition and origin of volcanic rocks in island arcs, and geochemistry of river and lake water. For the last fifteen years, his research interests have been diversified to environmental quality study, including treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater, and groundwater treatment for pollutant removal. He has over 125 journal publications and conference presentations in his specialized fields.
