Dr. Quinn is a leading herpetologist with over 20 years of experience as director or curator of several zoological parks. He is a past president of the largest international, professional herpetological organization, the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles. He has initiated and conducted captive/release programs, and he is involved in several national and international conservation efforts, including a program in Venezuela for protecting the endangered Orinoco crocodile.
