Dr. Tevesz received his B.A. (1970) from Case Western Reserve University and his M.Phil.(1972) and Ph.D. (1974)from Yale University. He has taught geology and paleontology at Cleveland State University since 1974 and currently is Special Assistant to the President as well as a Professor in the Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences. He holds joint appointments in CSU's Department of Chemistry and the Levin College of Urban Affairs, as well as an adjunct professorship in the Department of Geological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. His research has centered on the study of mollusks, which reflects a life-long interest in the phylum. His recent research deals with mollusc-sediment relationships and the stable isotope chemistry of their shells. His other research interests include tandem mass spectrometry of organic compounds, geology for urban planners, and ecclesiastical stained glass.
