Dr. Yuan is an assistant professor of Environmental Geosciences. He received his B.S. in Geology and his M.S. in Environmental Chemistry from Zhejiang University, his Ph.D. in Geology from State University of New York at Albany, and his postdoctoral training in Soil and Water Sciences from Texas A&M University Research Center at El Paso. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union, the Geochemical Society, and the American Quaternary Association.
Dr. Yuan is an Environmental Geoscientist who has a degree of expertise in the use of geochemical and isotopic tracers (e.g., chloride, deuterium, carbon-13, and oxygen-18) as environmental indicators for modern and ancient aquatic systems. His primary research interest lies in the field of aqueous and environmental geochemistry to better understand and assess the impacts of the anthropogenic disturbances. He uses a range of environmental tracers to investigate physical processes occurring in lakes and rivers on various spatial and temporal scales (more...)
